The circadian rhythm is a roughly 24-hour cycle that characterizes your physiological processes.

It is like a 24-hour internal clock that runs in the background of your brain.

It makes you change from a state of drowsiness (e.g. around 2:00 and 4:00 AM, or after lunchtime) to one of alertness and feeling energized.
